ND 555 features a powerful 40-bit SHARC processor, a suspended brass sub-chassis, and Naim's best external power supply. This is designed with one goal in mind, to deliver an unparalleled listening experience for music enthusiasts. This is evident in the Low Voltage Differential Signalling (LVDS), for high-speed and low noise, which in-turn minimises timing errors and radiation.
Up-To-Date Streaming Tech
The ND 555 uses advanced technology for a superior audio experience. The streaming section employs Naim's up-to-date network card, which decodes most HD audio formats up to 32 bits / 384 kHz. The streaming board allows the DAC clock to control audio data flow and ensure a stable output.
Oversampled For 40-bit Accuracy
The data is oversampled for 40-bit accuracy and fed into the Burr-Brown R2R ladder DAC, which delivers exceptional sound quality. The ND 555 network player features Naim's DR regulator technology, providing ultra-pure DC voltage to its sensitive audio circuitry.
Analogue Is Never Forgotten
Even on a reference network player, the analogue stages utilise high-grade components and are mounted on a suspended sub-chassis with brass plates that minimise microphony - all to improve the pace, rhythm and timing of your music.

By utilising the mandatory external power supply (NAPS 555-DR PSU), Naim have taken the concept of streaming music to its logical conclusion. Reducing the external noise and vibrations from the power supply allows your NS 555 to focus on delivering what matters - the musical performance.
