Shaped By Sound
Very few would dare to make something so bold. Admittedly, Nautilus is bold, even for Bowers & Wilkins. Its instantly recognisable form may be pure art, but it was defined by the science of sound, remaining a constant reminder of what's possible.
Tapered Tubes
The long, tapered damping tubes were a revolution, allowing the drive units to work optimally by gently absorbing stray energy. To this day, many groundbreaking technologies used in the creation of Nautilus are used elsewhere across the range of Bowers & Wilkins world-class loudspeakers.
Inspired
Bowers & Wilkins took inspiration from the shell of a snail and created a bass tube that curls around itself. This in turn, enables the bass tube to effectively manage low-end frequencies, while not taking up a large amount of space - after all, unfurled the curled tube would be 13 feet in length.
Solid Foundations
The speaker itself sits atop a Marble plinth to provide solidity to the speaker.
Active Speaker Perfection
The Nautilus speakers themselves are an active system, utilising two active crossovers, which in turn connect to four external stereo power amplifiers.
