The 802 D5 shares its most critical technologies with the flagship 801 D5. The same Diamond dome tweeter, the same Solid Body Tweeter-on-Top enclosure, and the same decoupled Turbine Head for the Continuum™ cone FST™ midrange driver , all working together to reproduce music and film soundtracks with exceptional accuracy and realism.
Ultimate Drive Unit Technology
The Diamond dome tweeter pushes break-up frequency to an extraordinary 70kHz, delivering exceptional clarity, precision and openness across the entire audible range. The Continuum™ cone reproduces voices and instruments with lifelike detail, while dual 8-inch Aerofoil™ bass drivers provide controlled and precise low-frequency performance.
Optimised For Pure Performance
Every element of the 802 D5 has been refined for the D5 generation. An upgraded Matrix™ bracing design reduces resonance and creates a more believable, enveloping soundstage. Aluminium Space Frame Bracing and an all-new aluminium top section deliver an even more spacious and immersive listening experience than ever before.
Crafted To Be Better By Design
The shape of the 802 D5 is not aesthetic , it is acoustic. Its cabinet is formed from a single continuous curve, locked in place by a solid aluminium spine, minimising cabinet reflections. The iconic Tweeter-on-Top and Turbine Head midrange enclosure work in concert to ensure musical performance is always as precise and uncoloured as possible.
